The Incan Woman

Panzer et. al, PLOS ONE 2014

Allegedly, in the 1890s, during her trip to South America Princess Therese of Bavaria received two mummies. It's unknown what had happened to one of the mummies, but the other was that of an Incan woman. Parts of the legs of the woman were destroyed during WWII, but still remain well intact other than her missing legs.  She was donated to the Anatomical Institute of the Ludwig-Maximilian University in 1904.

It was initially thought that she was a European bog body at first. After an Analysis of her hair though it showed that she was from South American Origins. This made sense because the braided style of her hair was not common in Europe. The bands holding her hair together were made from alpaca or llama hair and had a high diet of seafood and maize. This likely means she is from near the coastline of Peru or Chile, but there was a change in diet the 10 months before her death. She either changed her diet or moved from the area where she lived. She was likely buried in the dry sands of the Atacama Desert to preserve her body.

It's believed that she was a pre-Columbian Incan woman.  She was between the ages of 20 to 25-years-old.

A CT scan of the woman shows that she was murdered. It is unknown if she was a sacrifice or not, but it was likely.  She had been killed by being hit with a sharp object several times to the front of her skull. The skull bones were found in her brain cavity. However, even if she wasn't killed she was dying from Chagas disease caused from parasites.

GHOSTS: La Vidua

La Vidua or The Widow or The Window in Black in Englis is a spirit that roams the lonely mines and path within Chile. In life, La Vidua went mad with grief and anger when her husband died and those feeling followed her in death. After death, she roams waiting for unsuspecting men.

She is not noticeable to travelers on the road at first. The closer they get the more details they get. Dressed in a black dress that covers her entirely, the person she picks cannot see her face till they are close to her. Once close enough it is revealed that La Viuda is a very beautiful woman. She will then demand sex from the man and if he refuses she will kill him and go on looking for the next one.

In the modern retelling of the story, she has been seen climbing onto cars of men who are alone and may have alcohol in their blood.

Ghost Ships: Caleuche

The Caleuche is a ghost ship in Chile folklore and comes from the island ChiloĆ©.

One version claims that the crew of the Caleuche is of those who drowned in the sea. These souls are brought to the ship by three Chilote Mythological siblings. The two sisters Sirena Chilota and Pincoya and their brother Pincoy. On the ship, the dead seem to live again as if they never died. The ship will arrive briefly and have the sounds as if there was a party on board.

Another version of the legend is that the ship appears in the sea of the ChiloĆ© Archipelago and attracts fishermen and sailors. It plays enchanting music that enslaves them to be a part of the crew for eternity. These new crewmembers would forever have a leg folded over their back for eternity.

Another version of the ship is that it is a magic ship that Warlocks use to have parties and transport their

goods. It's used by warlocks to improve their magical abilities every three months. The warlocks are only able to reach the ship by summoning caballo marino chilote because Millalobo, king of the seas, prohibited any other people from boarding the ship or getting to it by any other means.
