Disappearance of April Fabb
At 2:15p.m. Ordnance Survey workers in a van spotted April's bike in a field on the same road she was last seen on. This was no longer than 10 minutes since the other worker saw her and she was missing. At 3 p.m. a local man spotted the bike there as he was driving his mother home. He took it to the police House in Roughton. Her money, the cigarettes, and the handkerchief were still in the saddlebag.
It became apparent later in the day that April was missing. Her mother had found that she never made it to her sister's home in Roughton. The following morning a fullscale search was underway. A local search was done for the girl and inquiries were made with April's family and friends. The search and investigation were so thorough that 1,971 statements and 419 House to House Questionnaires were completed. April still couldn't be found.
April is a white female and was 13-years-old at the time. She would turn 14 on the 22nd. April was wearing a wine-colored wool skirt, a green jumper, a pair of long socks, and wooden-soled sandals with red straps and brass buckles.
