Murder of Lawrance "Larry" Howard Groves

On Jan. 28, 2003 family members of 40-year-old Larry Groves reported him missing. Family and friends had not heard from him. It's possible the last time he was heard from was on Jan. 12th around 11 p.m. He was talking to a friend on the phone in his home in Lakeville, Indiana. During the phone call, someone started banging on the door demanding to be let in. He knew the person and told his friend that he'd call them back in 20 minutes after the visitor leaves. The friend never got a phone call back.

Family members came to the house several times, but could not find any clues to what had happened to Larry.

Neighbors had not even seen Larry in the months after his disappearance. One neighbor was annoyed with the trees leaving peaches and pine needles on his side of the privacy fence. In June he would trim the trees and this was when he saw the side of the house covered in black. He knew something was inside causing this.

The neighbor would call the former owner and the father of Larry's longtime companion, who'd died in 2001, to check in on the house. On June 18th he would go in and note the awful smell. He would check the trap door that lead to the crawl space. It was covered with a rug. This was where they found Larry's body.

Disappearance of Katheryne Mary Lugo

On Jan. 8, 1994, 4-year-old Katheryne Lugo was last seen by her mother Frances Moya at 5:30 a.m. when she left for work. She was left at their home in Riviera Beach, Florida with her mother's boyfriend's sister. Katheryne was nowhere to be seen when Frances returned home.

According to Frances, her boyfriend Misbah Kazi threatened her. He told her that he'd sent Katheryne to Bangladesh and wasn't coming home until he got their baby who was due soon. At the time Frances was 8-months pregnant and was about to end their relationship. He was mistreating her and Katheryne throughout their relationship. In 1992 she sought an injunction against him for domestic violence.

After both Frances and Misbah were questioned by police it led to police believing Frances. They were convinced that Misbah took Katheryne to force Frances to give up custody of the unborn child. He was then arrested and charged with kidnapping, but at trial, he was acquitted. His sister had recanted statements that she saw the girl with her brother. Frances suspected that his family had something to do with Katheryne's abduction.

Even though Misbah was acquitted the FBI kept the case open and tracked him. He remained the main suspect and they hope he would lead them to Katheryne. Months after the acquittal he started threatening Frances over the phone with promises, never fulfilled. In 1995 he was arrested for attempted murder in California and was sentenced to life in prison.

Misbah has been offered several deals but remains tight-lipped about what had happened to Katheryne.

It's possible that Katheryne may not be in Bangladesh and is somewhere in the U.S.

Katheryne is a Hispanic female and was 4-years-old at the time.  She was 3'0" and 65lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She has pierced ears and a nickel size birthmark on the hamstring of her right leg. She may use the alias name Parag Khondokar and/or the alias date of birth of January 2, 1989.

She was wearing a purple and white Barney The Dinosaur shirt and underwear.

The Topless Woman In Disney's The Rescuers

Screenshot of the topless woman

On June 22, 1977 Disney released their film "The Rescuers". It's Disney's 23rd  animated feature film. The film was based on the series of books by Margery Sharp. Mostly was taken from her books The Rescuers (1959) and Miss Biana (1962).

The Rescuers follow two agents of the Rescue Aid Society. It's an international mouse organization headquartered in New York City. The organization helps abductions victims from all around the world. Jittery Bernard and Elegant Miss Biana set out to rescue Penny, a young orphan girl, who was abducted by Madam Medusa. Where she is being held hostage at the Devil's bayou.

The film went into development in 1962 but Walt Disney put it on the back burner due to the political overtones in it. In the 1970s the film was picked up again and was supposed to be done by younger animators, but it was taken over by the senior animation staff. There was a positive reception for the film, and this would lead to the first animated sequel Rescuers Down Under.

The Rescuers would premiere on VHS and LaserDisc on September 18, 1992, as part of the Walt Disney Classic Series. On Jan. 5, 1999, the film would be re-released on VHS as part of the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection. Three days later this film would be recalled. It was found in this release there was an image of a topless woman twice in non-consecutive frames during the scene where Bernard and Miss Bianca were flying on Orville's back in New York City. It's not noticeable during an ordinary viewing as the film moved at 24 frames per second. In 3 short days, the topless woman was seen.

It's unknown who placed the nude woman in the film or who she is. It's believed that it was a prank done by a staff member as it was intentionally placed in the scene. This VHS release was from the original 1977 theatrical version and so the prank was not noticed till it was accidentally re-released on VHS. Disney maintained that picture was not placed there by animators, but by someone inserting it in the post-production process. Disney never outright stated whether or not they found the person behind the picture.
