Disappearance of Edward James "EJ" "Eddie" Felps

 On August 12, 1982, 33-year-old Edward "EJ" "Eddie" Felps was last seen in New Caney, Texas. There is little information in this case. 

Edward is a white male and was 33 years old at the time. He's 5'5" and 139 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a bad scar on his left shoulder. He was wearing Black Levi Jeans, Black work boots, a tan and brown striped long-sleeve western shirt, Red and White cap with B & T Meat Market on it.

Disappearance of Benjamin "Benjie" Shane Ridley

On July 1, 1982, 15-year-old Benjamin "Benjie" Ridley went to a foster family in Burien, Washington. The next day or so he disappeared likely trying to go back to his family.  He was not reported missing until 2017. He may still be in the Seattle Washington or the surrounding area.

Benjie is a white male and was 15 years old at the time. He is 5'7" and 130 lbs.  He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Murder of Michelle Angela Garvey

On June 1, 1982, 14-year-old Michelle Garvey snuck out of a window of her home in New London, Connecticut. It was believed that she had either hitch hiked or met someone in town and got into their car. This wasn't the first time she ran away, but it was the last time they would see her.


2 days later Michelle would turn 15. It wasn't known where and how or even if she did celebrate her birthday. It was believed that she may have been trying to return to her home state of New Jersey or to North Carolina. However it's unknown what she did during June. 

On July 1st Michelle's body would be found in a field in Baytown, Texas.She had died elsewhere and here body dumped there merely hours before she was found. She had been strangled to death. It is believed that she was sexually assaulted as her bra was missing her shirt was unbuttoned. Her bra and shoes were not found at the scene. 

Michelle would be a jane doe up until January of 2014. Her family had hoped that she was still alive living her life out there and were heart broken when they found out she had died a month after running away. 

It is possible that she may be a victim of the Texas Killing Fields.

Disappearance of Sieu Vei Trang

On April 3, 1982, 13-year-old Sieu Vei Trang was last seen in Seattle, Washington. There is little information in this case. 

Sieu is an Asian female and was 13 years old at the time. At the time she was 4'9" and 95 lbs. She as black hair and brown eyes.

March 15, 1982 Claiborne Parish, Louisiana John Doe

On March 15, 1982, partial skeletal remains were found in a rural area in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana.

John Doe is a white male between 40 to 60 years old.

Murder of Fred "Spike" Bailey

After midnight on February 27, 1982, local boxing manager Ace Miller would look for 63-year-old Fred "Spike" Bailey at the Golden Gloves Boxing Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee but he was nowhere to be seen. a 1974 pickup truck, a 38-caliber revolver, and $700 in cash were also missing. 

Around 9am his body was found in a portable storage trailer behind the arena. He had been beaten to death with an object, likely a hammer. 

At the time Fred was working as a security guard for the arena. It's possible that his death was related to the thefts happening at the arena.

Murder of Dianne Aubert and Attempted Murder of Mayline Grenier

In the early morning of February 16, 1982,  roommates 23-year-old Dianne Aubert and 42-year-old of Mayline Grenier, both trans women, were in their apartment in Québec City, Québec, Canada. Two men would make it into their apartment and stab the two. Dianne would be stabbed 121 times and Mayline would be stabbed 30 times. Both were stabbed in their backs. The attackers would use 5 knives on the two. They would then rob the place of valuables such as furs and jewelry. 

Around 1:21 a.m. police were called to the apartment due to the sound of moaning. Dianne was found naked on her bed and she had died. Maryline who was also on a bed (not stated if it was the same bed) was partially dressed and was still alive.

The killers were men around 25 years old and had long hair. Both were around 5'10" and 150 lbs. 

The motive for the crime is unknown. Both roommates were transgender and it's possible that it was a hate crime. It could have been a robbery gone wrong or maybe the robbery was a second thought. It's unknown.

Disappearance of Barbra Jane Shumac

On the morning of December 16, 1982, 29-year-old Barbra Shumac and her husband got into an argument at their home in the 10700 block of Kimball Road in Venango Township, Pennsylvania. He would go back to bed and ask her to wake him up later so that they could cut down a Christmas tree. She didn't wake him up, however, and was not in the house when he woke back up. She had left the home between 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

There was a note left behind apologizing to him for making his life miserable and "It really hurts me inside to do this, but I don't see any other way".  A .22-caliber rifle was also missing from the home, but she left her purse, key, and vehicle behind.

He would report her missing around 5 p.m. A search was done, but there was a snowstorm happening at the time, and would have covered any tracks that she would have left. In 1990 she was declared dead.

Barbra is a white female and was 29-years-old at the time. She is 4'6" to 4'10" and 110 to 120 lbs. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing blue jeans, a dark blue snowmobile suit, and a pair of blue/grey snow boots. She has had a history of mental health issues.

Murder of Daisy "Cookie" Hamilton

 

Police Composition of Daisy

​Around noon on December 14, 1982, the city flood-control crew found the body of  34-year-old Daisy Hamilton near a pond at I-135 and 29th St North in Wichita, Kansas. She had died from multiple shotgun wounds to her head. 

Police would make a composition that would help her get identified within a couple days as her sister recognized her.

November 14, 1982 Ouachita Parish, Louisiana John Doe

On November 14, 1982, a partial skeleton of a man was found in a wooded rural area in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. He had been dead between 6 months to 2 years.

John Doe is a white male between 42 to 50-years-old. He was around 5'10". He's described as having light blonde sandy hair, but for some reason, the clay composite has dark brown hair. Unsure if they believed he dyed his hair or if the hair color was listed wrong or if the person who did the composite used the wrong colored hair. He has antemortem healed fractures on left rib #6 and right rib #7, Schmorl depressions on vertebral disks, and ossified thyroid cartilage.

He was wearing blue denim jeans, Tenners brand, red & white checkered long-sleeved western styled shirt, red and white baseball cap with a red, white, and blue logo with a cowboy on bucking horse and with the words Rodeo, America's #1 Sport, and brown leather top with lizard bottom cowboy boots.

November 4, 1982 Freeport, New York Jane Doe

On November 4, 1982 skeletal remains of a young woman were found in a dumpster in Freeport, New York.

Jane Doe was a possibly biracial woman black/white or other and was between 16 to 30-years-old. She was 5'1". She was wearing a striped blue, green, and yellow sweater jacket, bra, choker necklace and made of silver-like metal in a flexible cord type fashion, a chain with opal looking pendant, a yellow metal chain with a heart-shaped pendant with a letter "K" in the center.

Murder of James William Skeel

Around 1:30 a.m On September 21, 1982, 52-year-old James Skell left the Staircase Lounge, 300 S. Highland Drive, and would get to his apartment at 4137 South 570 East in Salt Lake City, Utah. His neighbors would report hearing loud noises that same morning. For the next two days, he would miss work and someone concerned for him went to check up on him. On the 23rd his body would be found nude and faced down on his bed. He had been hit in the head with something fairly heavy and blunt. His house wasn't ransacked other than a few drawers in his bedroom open the only things missing were his wallet and car keys. At the time James was known to bring other men to his aparmtent.

Disappearance of Jeannette Gesela Drzewiecki

On September 13, 1982 19-year-old Jeannette Drzewiecki went to the Doll's House club on Andres Highway in Odessa, Texas. She had been a dancer there but had taken the position of a waitress. She had gone in that night to talk about a work matter and while there she had one alcoholic drink. She left saying she was going to go home to her daughter, who was only born days before. She was never seen again.

Her pickup truck would be found abandoned on the south end of Odessa a week after her disappearance. The truck was towed to her home. The Doll's House was north of the city and her home was in the central part.

Jeannette is a white female and was 19-years-old at the time. She's 5'8" and 125lbs. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a t-shirt with the phrase "People in Odessa are living proof that there is life on other planets" and cut-off blue jeans.She may use the last names Stanelle and/or Reader and the first name Cherry.

July 23, 1982 Nueces County, Texas John Doe

On July 23, 1982, the body of a man was found floating in Corpus Christi Bay in Nueces County, Texas. It's believed that he had drowned and had been in the water for around 12 hours. 

He was a white male between 18-22-years-old. He was 5'8" and around 150 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing blue jeans, red/yellow striped pullover shirt, blue/yellow jogging shoes and "Jockey" shorts.

In 1982 13-year-old Michelle Wells was last seen leaving a residence she was visiting in Detroit, Michigan. There is little information in this case.

Michelle is a Biracial Native American/Caucasian and was 13-years-old at the time. She was 5'0 to 5'5" and around 100 to 200 lbs at the time. She has red hair.

Murder of Thelma Grace Rhame

On December 18, 1982, a concerned neighbor went to go check up on 66-year-old Thelma Rhame at her condo at the Las Palmas Condos on 545 Garfield Ave in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Thelma was found on the living room floor. She had been brutally stabbed to death.

Drawers and cabinets of her home were searched through, but expensive items like jewelry, T.V. silver, and a stereo were untouched. Money was not found at the scene though and it was unknown how much was taken.

Thelma suffered from chronic pain and rarely left her home. There were no signs of a struggle in the home, but because of her arthritis and pain, she wouldn't have been able to fight back. It's believed that it was someone who knew her. As there was no evidence of someone breaking into the condominium. It's possible that it was someone who helped her out or someone to who she had given money.

July 18, 1982 Westlake, California Jane Doe

On July 18, 1982, the partial skeletal remains were found in an open area in Westlake Village. It was estimated that she died that year. 

Jane Doe's race could not be determined, but she's possibly Asian and is believed the be between 1 and 24-years-old. She was 5'0" tall. There was a rust-colored sleeping bag with red lining found with or nearby the remains.

Murder of Joseph Carl Vincent

 On July 16, 1982, 49-year-old Joseph Vincent was found dead 3 miles from 1st Ave and Kratzville Rd in Evansville, Indiana. He was found to be shot multiple times. His truck was found 3 miles from where he was found.

Murder of Thomas Carbine

 

On July 14, 1982, 27-year-old Thomas Carbine got off of a plane from Dillingham, Alaska to Kodiak, Alaska. In Dillingham, he was working as a fisherman, and the boat he was working was broke down. It's possible he went to Kodiak to look for work while the boat was being repaired. 

That evening he would go to the Beachcomber bar. He was buying rounds of drinks up until 3:30 a.m. the next morning. He would be seen leaving the bar. Someone may have followed him out of the bar to rob him. He would be found 10 minutes later laying between two cars, he had been stabbed to death and his wallet, identification, and money were missing. 

His case remains unsolved.
