Disappearance of Tony Gikoff

 On July 9, 1955, 62-year-old Tony Gikoff was last seen near Colborne, Ontario, Canada at a property he rented out. 

Tony is a white male and was 62-years-old at the time. He was 193 cm (6'4") and 120 kg (265 lbs). He has dark brown hair.

March 13, 1955 Harding Township, New Jersey Baby John Doe

On  March 13, 1955, two young brothers were riding bikes down Long Hill Rd. in Harding Township, New Jersey. They would spot a pasteboard box tied with a sash cord in the swamp waters near Bridge 545. Opening the box partway terrified the brothers as they saw an infant's leg. They would quickly go to their father and report what they found. Police were contacted and looked inside the box. Inside was the body of an infant around 6 weeks old when he died.  He had been killed. 

Infant was male and was around 6 weeks old.

August 13, 1973 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Doe

 On August 13, 1973, skeletal remains were found inside an abandoned house that was going to soon be demolished in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The home was reported as vacant in the mid-1950s and the person possibly died between 1955 to 1970. It's likely he died in the 1950s as some of the items on the person were from that time. 

The gender and race are unknown but the person was between 20 to 70-years-old. They were 5'3". They were wearing a shirt, tie, brown trousers, leather belt, and brown socks. They had a full pack of Pall Mall cigarettes in their shirt pocket, an illegible ID card from 1955, and a 3C liberty stamp issued in 1954 until 1958. There were a pair of reading glasses made by American Optical Co. ~45 years of age at the initial report date. They have a slight plus Rx and are assumed to be used by an older person for reading.

Murder of Michael Leo Resk



Around 11:45 p.m. on December 8, 1955, 36-year-old Michael Resk left his home on Poplar Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was heading to the store that his brother owned and operated on Gottingen St. to help close down the store like he usually did. By 12:40 a.m. he never arrived at the store and would be reported missing by either his brother or wife. 

A few hours later at 2 a.m. on December 9th a taxi driver would call the police on a delivery van parked on Acadia St. near Roome St . about 2 miles from his home. It was parked in an unusual way and was blocking the taxi driver's driveway. When the driver looked inside he saw a body. When police investigated the vehicle it was Michael's body that was inside. He was shot execution-style and was shot multiple times with a .32 automatic.

Murder of Robert Geibelhaus

 Around 12:30 a.m. on September 30, 1955, a fight would break out at the  Trocadero Dance Hall on 10151 103 St. in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The fight was consensual between 24-year-old Robert Geibelhaus and an unidentified man. The man would hit Robert in the jaw and knock him out, and Robert's head would strike the sidewalk. The man and his two friends would flee.

Robert would not regain consciousness and would die 10 hours later of a brain hemorrhage. The man and his two friends were never identified.

Murder of Adam Richard Payne

 

On October 9, 1955, the body of 34-year-old Adam Payne was found lying on the roadway of KY 428 (Guston Rd), 7/10th of a mile west of Guston in Meade County, Kentucky. He was initially reported as being struck by a vehicle. The responding trooper found that the victim had died from gunshot wounds and was struck by a vehicle after death. He had been shot and killed in another location and then his body had been dumped.

October 30, 1955 Barstow, California Jane Doe

On October 30, 1955, the partial skeletal remains of a woman were found scattered from a shallow grave 3.6 miles east of Bear Valley Road in a desert 10 miles south of Barstow, California. She may have died months prior to discovery. Her cause of death is unknown or unstated. 

She's a white female between 30 to 80-years-old but is more likely to be between 50 and 80-years-old. She's around 5'4" and her weight is unknown. She had reddish/blonde hair that is 6 to 7 inches long.

Disappearance of Rufus "James" Williams.



April 1, 1955, 27-year-old Rufus "James" Williams was working at the Old Fort Finishing plant in Marion, North Carolina. He went to work as usual, but either began feeling ill or forgot something and left. He was allegedly last seen walking along the railroad tracks in Old Fort. There were searches for James, but nothing was found. 

His stepdaughter recalled that he had been having high blood pressure problems in the days before his disappearance. This may be one of the reasons he wasn't feeling well that day. He may have suffered from a medical issue on the day of his disappearance. 

James's race was not stated. He was between 5'3" and 5'8" and between 120 lbs to 160 lbs. He had sandy-colored hair.

Murder of Donald Keyes

On March 8, 1955, 24-year-old Donald Keyes was working the night shift at the Checker Oil Station in Columbus, Ohio. It was believed that between 1:30 a.m. and 1:40 a.m. was when the robbery and murder occurred. He was forced to lie on the floor in the storage room with his head on a pillow and the murderer shot him in the side of the face. 

Donald was going to college at the time and was studying to become a teacher. He left behind two young children and his wife.
