Murder of Richard Chacon

At 3:30 a.m. on July 25, 1999, 31-year-old Richard Chacon was working as a manager at The Car Wash, an illegal after-hours nightclub at 1180 West Hastings in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  That morning there were nearly 100 people gathered there.

There was a fight that had broken out between two men in the club. Richard would try to break up the fight. He would walk up behind a blonde-haired man in a Hawaiian shirt and try to get him off a dark-skinned, possibly black man. A shot would ring out and both the blonde man and Richard were shot by the same bullet. Someone would shout, “My God, Trevor – you just shot someone.”

Both Richard and the other man were taken to the hospital. Richard would pass and the other man would become wheelchair-bound.

It's believed that people in the club that night know who "Trevor" is, but they have not been identified yet.

Haunted Items: Mandy the Doll

In 1991 a woman donated a doll to the Quesnel & District Museum in Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada. She told them that she received it from her grandmother and it had been in a trunk for many years. The doll was fragile as it was around 100 years old and it gave her a weird feeling so she donated it immediately.

The doll was named Mandy, and her first day there was surprising to the crew. Her photo was taken and was added to her collection. She was left in the lab overnight. In the morning The crew would find the lab in disarray as if a small child had a temper tantrum. She was given a lamb toy with her inside in her case and it was found outside of it later.

It is said the Mandy gives off a feeling. She is also said to follow people with her eyes.

Silvia Bowne, a medium, stated that the doll belonged to a set of twins. The Twins would unfortunately pass from polio. This would cause the mother to severely grieve her children and it was implanted in the doll this is the energy.

Jan 14, 1953 Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Babes in the Woods

On Jan. 14, 1953, the bodies of two young boys (initially believed to be a boy and a girl) were found in a brush-filled area of Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. They were covered by what looked like a woman's rain cape. They were laying in a straight line with their feet almost close together and heads in opposite directions. They could have been dead for up to the fall of 1947.

There was a hatchet found at the scene. Both boys had wounds to their heads. One of the victim's skull had a wound in the back of the head that the hatchet fit perfectly. The other skull was fractured by what may have been the hammer of the hatchet. It's believed that the killer was the mother.

It's believed that the body of Boy A was laid down first where they were found. He was faced down in a shallow depression. Boy B was then placed down where he was found and it's believed that the killer (a woman) lost her shoe underneath his left shoulder and between a log. Before she left she covered the boys in her coat and in a panic left her shoe where she lost it.

The boys weren't identified. It wasn't until a DNA test in 90's that Boy b was found to be a boy instead of a girl.

There was a possible lead to identifying the children. In 1949 or 1950 a man working in a logging camp, and his companion picked up a woman and two children. During the ride, she told them that she had been in trouble with Mission Police for vagrancy charges. They learned that one or both children at some time attended Cedar Valley School and she lived on Cherry St. in Mission B.C. It's possible that the men mistook "Vag C" instead of vagrancy which was the code for prostitution at the time.

The woman was described as having red hair. The two boys were around 6 or 7 years old with one of them wearing an aviator flying helmet. The lead managed the find the family name of Grant, but this lead was exhausted after speaking to family members.

There was a report a few years before the bodies being found of an adult male and female walking in the woods with two young boys. One of the boys was carrying a hatchet. Later that day the couple was seen again this time without the boys and the woman was without one of her shoes.

Police don't believe that they'll catch the person who murdered these young children. It's likely that the killer would be deceased by now anyway. They just want to give the children back their names.

Boy A is a white male between 7 and 10 years old. He was described as having a sturdy build. He had many cavities. Clothing deteriorated. He was wearing brown oxfords with white crepe rubber soles, a belt and a leather aviation helmet with goggles, and a zipper jacket or sweater (one article states it's a red Fraser Tartan Jacket).

Boy B is a white male and was between 7 and 10-years-old. He was described as having a slender build. He had more cavities than his brother. He was wearing identical brown oxfords with white crepe rubber soles, but 1/2 an inch longer, a belt, a zipper jacket or sweater, an aviator helmet with goggles, and the underwear he was wearing was deteriorated but believed to be too big as a safety pin was used in the elastic to keep them up.

The hatchet at the scene was typically used by shinglers and lathers. It was rusty and the handle was broken into two by the time it was found.

The coat was a cheap dark brown (dyed rabbit) with leg-of-mutton shoulders that were popular in 1943. The coat is a size 16 and is 40 inches long. The lining material of the coat indicated it had been worn for 2 or 3 years. The woman's show was a moccasin style size 5 1/2 with crepe soles with a light grey plastic quarter lining and a red plastic quarter binding.

There was a light blue with white trim children's lunch box by the bodies. It isn't stated if there was anything inside the lunchbox when the children died.

There is no mention of a bracelet that I could find, but one article has a picture of a piece of a child's bracelet with a button from the coat.

October 8, 1994 Princeton, British Columbia, Canada The Princeton Angels

On October 8, 1994, the bodies of newborn twin girls were found inside a black garbage bag in a pit toilet at Allison Lake Provincial Park about 30 km north of Princeton, British Columbia, Canada, along Highway 5A. The girls were born alive and killed. It's believed that the mother did not receive aftercare as there were no hospital records supporting that. She may have come from another province and it's possible the mother was a victim herself.

The twins are known as the Princeton Angels and a memorial plaque marks their burial in the Princeton Cemetary.

Witnesses claimed to have seen a crash in alley just prior to calling in. They reported that a yellow cab drove away and didn't get a good look at the driver. Disappearance of Helen Claire Frost

Around 8 p.m. on October 13, 1970, 17-year-old Helen Frost came home to the apartment she shared with her sister Sandy and Darlene and her baby in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. Helen asked Sandy if she wanted to go on a walk with her and Sandy declined. It was too cold outside, and Helen left around 8:20. She never returned back home and was reported missing two days later and was going to turn 18 on October 17th.

In the spring of 1970, Helen went to a home of unwed mothers and gave birth to a daughter Sandra Jeanette on May 13th. Shortly afterward she went back to Prince George and lost custody of her daughter. She tried to get custody during the summer, but it was unsuccessful. Her relationship with the baby's father, Stefan Grumpner, ended.

At the time Helen was working odd jobs including being a busser at the Hudson's Bay Company cafeteria and a gas station painter for a company.

Helen was considered an introvert and a private person but did have a spontaneous side. Like for example when Helen was 14 and Sandy was 15 in 1967 they went to Abbotsford to work as berry pickers. The following summer they went to Penticton and spent time hitchhiking and sleeping outside after jobs didn't materialize. They were comfortable with truckers who would sometimes buy them a meal and ask another truck to help them on their journey. Helen was comfortable with this kind of risk-taking.

Helen is a Caucasian woman and was 17 at the time. She's 168 cm( 5'6") and 57kg (126lbs). She has blue eyes and short blonde hair. She may be going by the alias's Lana Lunn, Lana Lnun, Debbie Soles.

On Feb. 5, 1993, the body of 26-year-old Sheila Henry was found lying in a pool of blood in her Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada home. She had been severely beaten likely with a flashlight and because she didn't die fast enough the killer suffocated her with a pillow. Unfortunately, she was also six weeks pregnant with her first child.

David, Sheila's husband of two years, has been the only suspect announced in this case. He said he went out around 3 p.m and returned around 8 to find Sheila's body. Unsolved Murder of The Pauls Family

The Pauls were murdered in their Vancouver home in 1958

47-year-old Helen and 53-year-old David Paul were Russian Emigrants and lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. During their 16 years of marriage, they lived in Saskatchewan and Aldergrove, before buying a home in Vancouver in September of 1956. They lived in a home on the 1000-block of E.53rd Avenue with their 11-year-old daughter Dorothy.

Around 11:30 p.m. on June 10, 1958, David was leaving the home to go pick up Helen from the bus stop after she finished work. He was surprised by an attacker right outside the rear basement door. He was shot in the head and was seriously injured, but did not die.

The murderer went upstairs to where Dorothy was sleeping in her bed. They entered her bedroom and bludgeoned her to death. She was still in her bed when she was found. Her P.J. bottoms were found laying on the floor next to the bed. There was no sign of sexual assault on the body. Sexual motivation hadn't been rejected.

They had gone back downstairs and possibly found the Paul was still alive so they dragged him to the basement.  They proceeded to beat him and then shot him twice in the head killing him. Then they patiently waited for Helen to arrive home.

Helen was attacked in the front hallway. She was beaten and shot to death.

On June 11 when David and Helen didn't show up to work officers arrived at the house. Seemingly from the outside, it seemed normal, but when they entered the house they knew something terrible had happened when they found Helen's body.

The murder weapons were not recovered or identified. The object used to beat them was described as heavy. The bullets from the 22. caliber revolver more than likely a Rohn Rg-10, colt-style, six-shot.

A heavy instrument of some kind was used to beat the victims. The bullets recovered from the bodies were sent to more than one lab, which concluded they came from a .22 caliber revolver – likely a Rohm RG-10, colt-style, six-shot.

Robbery may have been a motive as David's wallet, house key, and vehicle was missing and Helen's purse was open.
