April 3, 1974 Cleveland, Ohio John Doe

On June 27, 1973, a building in Cleveland, Ohio was firebombed and gutted by fire on March 14, 1974. On April 3rd a man would go through the building and discover bones. Police were called and it was discovered that a man had crawled in a crawl space and died. However, he likely died in the 1930's as his shoes and a bottle indicated he was from that time. The bottle of beer he had with him was bottled in Cleveland in 1938.


John Doe was a male between 35 to 40 years old. He was around 5'10". He was wearing a pair of shoes that were of the type that a male might have worn in the late 30's, they were ankle high and the last three eyelets were of the hook type. There was a beer bottle from the Royal Beer Company, Cleveland, Ohio that was bottled in 1938.

Murder of Johnnie Dean Williams



On September 15, 1972, Johnnie Williams would visit with his wife and newborn daughter at the hospital. That evening he would spend the night out taking $800 with him to a club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Knowing that Johnnie was going to the club she would call them around midnight to talk to him. However, he wasn't there. On September 18th Johnnie's wife would report him missing as no one had seen him for days. 

On the 24th a farmer would be working his fields east of 1800 N Mingo. In the field Johnnie's body would be found. He had been beaten and then shot between the eyes. It's believed he was robbed as there was no money on him and his pockets were turned inside out.

Disappearance of Colleen Kay (Carpenter) Burgess

 On August 31, 1974, 25-year-old Colleen Burgess would leave her work in Englewood, Colorado. She would not be seen afterward. She had left in her green 1967 Chevrolet Nova. Around a week later her family received a letter believed to be from her stating she had a terminal illness and didn't want them to watch her suffer. After this, there was no contact. 

Colleen is a white female and was 25 years old at the time. She is 5'6" to 5'7" and 130 to 135 lbs. She has Red Auburn hair and hazel eyes.

Murder of Roy Franklin Wishon

At 5:03 pm on August 21,1976, Someone called a police officer to the area of 200 Burtner St in Greensboro, North Carolina about the smell of decomposition in a wooded area. This was when the body of Roy Wishon was found. He had been beaten to death. He had been for 4 to 5 days as his body was seen there around that time but was mistaken as someone sleeping.

August 15, 1976 Columbia, Missouri John Doe

On August 15, 1976, the body of a man was found at the bottom of an embankment off Rock Quarry Road in Columbia, Missouri. The remains were badly decomposed with some mummification it was believed he died between 1975 to 1976. 

John Doe is a White male between 26 to 32 years old. He was 5'6" to 5'8" and 130 to 150 lbs. He had brown hair. His nails were closely clipped. He was wearing a pair of plaid, double knit trousers/pants, 28" waist, and a brown belt.

Disappearance of Sharon Maxwell

On August 15, 1976, 19-year-old Sharon Maxwell was last seen with two other individuals on the 2000 block of W. 22nd Place, in Chicago Illinois. She left the residence and never returned. There is little information in this case. 

Sharon is a black female and was 19 years old at the time. She is 5'6" to 5'8" and 160 to 170 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Murder of Chester L. Carruthers

 


On August 13, 1976, 15-year-old Chester Carruthers' mother reported her son missing in Harrison, Maine. She had not seen him for around 2 weeks when she reported him missing. 

On May 13, 1981, a dog would be found carrying a skull a quarter of a mile from Chester's home. Chester's remains would be found buried in a wooded area behind a home off of Route 35. It was found that he had been shot in the head.

Murder of Eileen Virginia Standley

At 5:10 pm on August 6, 1978, 53-year-old Eileen Standley's boyfriend came to her apartment at 415 W. Haskell Place #B Osage Hills Apartments in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Inside he found Eileen dead in her bathroom.  She was partially nude and her throat was slit. The crime may have been sexually motivated. There were signs of forced entry into the apartment, but there were no signs of a struggle inside.

July 1, 1970 Grottoes, Virginia John Doe

On July 1, 1970, while police were searching for missing vehicles in an abandoned manganese mine in Grottoes, Virginia skeletal remains of a man were found.  It's believed that the man had died between 1957 and 1960. 

John Doe's race is unknown and he was between 35 to 55 years old. He was around 5'7" to 6'2".

Murder of Maggie May Keys

 On June 27, 1972, the body of 51-year-old Maggie Keys was found in an alley in east Dayton, Ohio. She had been beaten and stabbed. One of the stabs in her leg had caused her to bleed to death. Robbery and sexual assault seem to not have been motives.

Disappearance of Margie Ada Sne




19-year-old Margie Snead was last heard from in 1974 when she sent her parents a postcard. The card was post-marked Hot Springs, Arkansas. There is little information in this case. 

Margie is a white female and was 19 years old at the time. She is 5'5" and 150 lbs.

Murder of Paul Joseph Olsen


On June 24, 1973, 20-year-old Paul Olsen was found wrapped in blankets, (a news article described them as sleeping bags) lying in a stream near Route 113 in Madison, New Hampshire. He had tape covering his mouth. His cause of death was asphyxia from obstruction of the mouth and nose.

Murder of Daniel Gene Lutz


On June 22, 1976, 28-year-old Daniel Lutz would be working at his store, Lutz Sporting Goods and Grocery Store, on State Road 44, approximately 4.5 miles west of Liberty, Indiana. At 12:50 a woman would go into the store to buy cigarettes and would find Daniel lying behind the counter bleeding. She would go to the restaurant next door for help. Daniel was still alive but would die shortly after arriving at the hospital.

It was apparent that he had been shot shortly before he was found. The register was opened and all of the paper cash was taken. The person only got away with $30 to $50. 

Daniel had bought and opened the store just the week before he was killed. It's unknown why someone would target a store that had just opened.

June 22, 1979 Orleans Parish, Louisiana John Doe

On June 22, 1979, the body of a boy was found in a body of water in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. It's believed that he had drowned between 1978 to 1979.

John Doe is a black male and was between 8 to 10 years old.

June 18, 1979, Baltimore, Maryland (New Jersey) John Doe

 On June 18, 1979, the remains of a man were found in a pump of a dry dock in Baltimore, Maryland. The dry dock was towed from New Jersey to Baltimore in the late 1950s. This would estimate that the man had died between 1929 and 1959.

John Doe was likely white between 40 to 65 years old. He was 5'11" with a muscular robust build. He had arthritis in his knees and had mouth stress suggestive of a mind instrument player or glass blower. Two china buttons were found with the body. The buttons were likely used on suspenders and were a style of WWII.

Murder of Domingo Rafael Valdes

In 1974, 44-year-old Domingo Valdes was a Puerto Rico native and resided at Old Middlesex Turnpike Extension in Billerica, Massachusetts. At 5:30 am On June 14th his body was found near the border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire on the New Hampshire side. He was found along the side of Old Gage Hill Road in Pelham.

He had been shot four times, He was shot twice in the chest, once in the leg, and once in the shoulder. He had been recently killed elsewhere dumped where he was found and then soon after discovered. One article stated it may have been a gangland murder.

Disappearance of Kenneth Stone

On June 13, 1970, 38-year-old Kenneth Stone was a lobster fisherman and went out on the water in Owls Head, Maine. Later his watercraft was found abandoned on Marblehead Island, a tiny rock island, at the mount of Penobscot Bay. The throttle was full a head, but the engine was dead. His thermos with coffee still inside and his jacket were found floating nearby. It's believed that he may have drowned. 

Kenneth is a white male and was 38 years old at the time. He's 5'1" to 6'3" and 200 lbs.

Disappearance of Mary Patricia Fiano


In 1973, 22-year-old Mary Fiano was living in Fairmount or Morgantown, West Virginia. She would go missing sometime in June. There is little information in this case. 

Mary is a white female and was 22 years old at the time. She was 5'5" and 100 to 200 lbs. She has shoulder-length brown hair and hazel eyes.

May 28, 1979 Bear Creek Township, Pennsylvania






On May 28, 1979, Two men would be walking through the woods looking for a fishing hole in Bear Creek Township, Pennsylvania. They would stumble across the body of a man. He had been thrown down an embankment from the road causing his shoe to fall off.  He had been shot in his left chest and had been dead for around 10 to 14 days. 

John Doe is a white male around 17 to 22 years old. He was 5'10" and 180 lbs. He has brown hair. 

He was found wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, tan trousers with white pinstripes, white underwear, black socks, over a pair of white socks, and black loafers, a bracelet was sterling silver (with “Vedon” on the clasp) and the ring was 14K gold with a serpent design worn on his right little finger. It's believed that the bracelet was from the brand Avedon and the A had worn off. This would mean the bracelet was made in New York.

Disappearance of Columbus G. McLeod

In 1908, 62/63-year-old Columbus G. McLeod was a DeSoto County sheriff. On November 30th he carried out game law enforcement duties in Lee C...
