July 22, 1912, Bloodstains in J.D. Smith's Home

On July 22, 1912, J.D. Smith returned to his home at No. 420 East Forty-first street in Los Angeles, California. He had returned home from a trip through the state and his home was not how he had left it. It was in a way that he never would have thought of coming back to.

He first noticed a mysterious pencil checkmark on the front door when he entered the front porch. When he entered the parlor he notice a light grey hat covered in blood. This however was not the only thing covered in blood. There were stains on the carpet, and streaks on the piano. The piano itself was even broken as the lid had been cracked from one end to the other. Oddly enough even though there was obviously a break in there were no signs of anything being stolen.

When he asked his neighbors to see what had happened in his home no one knew. No one stated that they had seen any men or boys about his home. One thing J.D. did note is that his neighbor's doors also had strange pencil marks.

Police investigating inclined to believe that boys had entered the home and started a fight near the piano resulting in blood and broken piano.

Suspicious Death of Grover Ramirez Jr

On June 3, 2001, 20-year-old Grover Ramirez Jr went out of his home and went to get his daughter's milk. That night he would meet up with two friends before returning home. The friends, Michael Burns and Marco Sandoval, stated that near Comanche Creek in Chico, California they spotted an abandoned truck. The three made a plan to strip it of parts and sell it.

His friends stated that a group of people was also in the area and they began chasing Grover and his friends. They stated it was unknown why the group started chasing them. During the chase, they stated that they heard splashes. When his friends stopped running after about a mile they noticed Grover wasn't with them anymore.

It wasn't until June 7th it was found what happened to him. Grover's body was found in a creek under a group of overhanging bushes. It was listed that he had died from drowning and had no signs of trauma and a lack of scrapes and scratches. Which doesn't match the brushy, thorny area the men were running on that night.

The family stated that they didn't believe the two friends. They stated that after Grover left someone had called the house threatening to kill her and Grover. It was shocking because Grover was well-liked and got along with a lot of people.  His family also believes that the police dropped the ball in this case. That they did not take the search for him seriously and that they didn't take his death seriously. They even labeled him as a gangbanger even though he was not.

Hair Bundle Mystery

In early March 2019, mysterious bundles of hair started showing up in Santa Barbra, California. They had been found mainly in center divider areas on Carrillo Hill, Meigs Rd, Cliff Dr, and even the Mesa Shopping area. It's said that some people witnessed the bundles being thrown out of cars.

The bundles were in braids and were dark brown. They were similar to horse hair but less coarse and almost like human hair, but not. (I wonder if they were some sort of hair for extensions)

Why were these bundles of hair left sitting around? No one knows, but many would say that it was creepy nonetheless.

Lemon Grove Mummies

In 1966 a couple of teenage boys were obsessed with archeology. They heard of how in Mexico people were buried or mummified in caves. The boys would spend over a month exploring the caves of Chihuahua, Mexico for a discovery. They were successful in doing so as they discovered a pregnant mother and an infant possibly their child. In order to not be caught they would smuggle the remains over the border to Lemon Grove, California. The boys could not show off their discovery or turn the bodies over to a museum because what they had done was illegal.

When the two were drafted they asked a friend if they could store the box in their garage. More than likely it was unknown to the friend what was inside the box. In 1980 the friend's mother opened the box while cleaning the garage. She was horrified at the sight and called the police. Where everything was discovered.

The remains were discovered to have lived and died between AD 1040 and AD 1260. The bodies were then donated to the San Diego Museum of Man and the Mexican Government decided to grant the U.S.  custody of them.

The mother was estimated to be around 15-years-old and was around 7 months pregnant and close to giving birth. The infant girl was around 1. It's not stated if the two were related. It's not believed that they were purposly buried. The teenage girl laid with her arms over her head.

One refrence states that a CT scanof the young woman revealed a dislocated shoulder, ossified hematoma on the back of the head, indicating blunt force trauma, and a dislocated hip. These injuries are similar to a fall, and she had died soon after.

Another refrences don't mention their deaths, but that it was suspected from their positions that they may have died in their sleep.
