Psychic Phenomenon: Linda Babb

In early 1987 Dirk and Linda were preparing to adopt a baby to love and raise. On the night of March
7th, Linda would dream of a woman giving birth. The baby would have dark hair and a dark complexion. She would wake up to see that she woke up at 2:59 a.m. The couple would receive a call 6 weeks later as a child was eligible to be adopted.

When Linda first saw her son she remembered the dream. He had looked exactly like that baby and she would find out that when she woke up to the dream when he was born. Around 18 months later Linda would see a photo of her son with his birth mother. She would realize that she was the same woman in the dream.

Was it a strange coincidence or was Linda connecting with her son.

Urban Legends: Flying Mattress Mist

Image Made in Imagine AI Art Generator

In early November 2001, Judy R. and a friend were driving home along Highway 36 in New Jersey. The two were startled by a weird mist. At high speeds, a rectangular cloud of mist flew across the road in front of them. It was two feet thick and longer than her car.

It's unknown what the two encountered on the road. There are some theories such as it being a ghost or even a natural occurrence with the weather. It's unknown in this case.

Psychic Phenomenon: Elaine Emmi

In 1983 Elaine Emmi and her neighbor Sharon Krakker were in Palm Springs, California. This was over a 100 miles away from their homes in Los Angeles. While eating at a restaurant Elaine was filled with dread and fear for her four-year-old son Matt. She felt like something had happened to him. She would repeatedly call home with no answer, and they would call Sharon's husband to ask, but he didn't notice anything wrong.

Sharon tried to calm Elaine down, but she couldn't. She was too worried for her son and insisted something was wrong. This would lead them to drive back to Los Angeles and she would stop and try to call home twice more with no answer. When Elaine arrived she found out Matt was in the hospital because he fell through a glass door and broken his arm. It happened at the same time Elaine started panicking.

Did Elaine's maternal instinct kick in over 100 miles away to protect her son?

Phenomenon: Shannon and Dian Sites

Identical twins Shannon and Dian Sites were born in 1973, but unfortunately, Shannon would pass away soon after. At 9 a.m. in 1994, Dian was driving to work and felt Shannon's presence. It made her pull over and stop which was lucky for her. If she had not done this a truck would have scrapped the side of the car and likely would have ended up killing her. When there are lone twins or twinless twins it is said that sometimes the deceased twin becomes a guardian angel.

Was Dian just lucky or was Shannon there to protect her sister?

The Hollinwell Incident

In 1980 the annual Hollinwell Show at the Hollinwell Showground near Kirkby-in-Ashfield, England, and something terrifying happened. As part of the show on Sunday 13 July 1980, the Forest League of Juvenile Jazz Bands held a charity show. As a part of the charity event, it became a Junior Brass and Marching Band Competition, and competitors would come from across the East Midlands.

There were 11 different marching bands and around 500 children attending. Many of them were coming from 65 Kilometers (40 miles) away for the competition. The competition would start at 9 a.m. and many of the students were already tired from their long travel.

At 10:30 the children began to collapse. Many of the children, adults, and babies were suffering from nausea, fainting, abdominal pain, convulsions, headaches, tremors, and hyperventilation red eyes, sore throat, and vomiting. It affected around 300 people.

It was never known what had caused this. It could have been mass hysteria as the event has many qualities of it. Some believe that the pesticides, used in nearby fields could have caused the event as the pesticide used was banned in 2000 in the UK. The food and water at the showground weren't contaminated.

Saviors of Doris Smith

Doris smith1 Doris smith5 actual photograph of men's truck
On the night of September 16, 1995, Thomas Wright of Eldon, Missouri had a terrifying nightmare about his mother. It disturbed him greatly and it caused him to sit in his bed and pray for her. His mother is Doris Smith and was working as a deputy sheriff for the Miller County Sheriff's Department.

He stated; “I could see my mother’s squad car. There was a struggle. I saw the person take my mother’s gun. It was a woman. I remember the gun moving back and forth and it looked like my mother really wasn’t winning the struggle. She needed help. A gunshot went off. And that was the most disturbing thing about the whole dream, the fact that I didn’t know who was shot and why. The only thing I could think at that point was that there was a possibility that my mother might have been taken away from me.”

The two have a strong bond and were best friends. He stated that they could typically feel each other's hurt.

On September 17, 1995, Doris was transferring a prisoner who wrote bad checks and was sentenced for a year. She had to drive the prisoner to a facility four hours away and as they traveled towards Laddonia, Missouri a series of events that similarly happened in Thomas's dream began.

Around 6 p.m. the prisoner had gotten her hands out of the handcuffs (her hands were small). She began to attack Doris and Doris had to fight for her gun and as well as her life. Unfortunately, Doris was constrained by her seatbelt and was losing the fight. Things had differed from Thomas's dream though. Two men helped Doris. By the time Doris found her composure the two men were gone.

But they know what they were driving as someone stopped at the scene and took a picture (posted above). The men were driving a pre-1995 dark blue Chevy CK pickup truck with tinted windows and an extend cab. They were also towing a blue and white boat.

Thomas and Doris were very thankful to the two for saving her life and went on the show Unsolved Mysteries to help find them. The website says that Doris still hasn't found the men who saved her that day.

The Strange Case of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B Cumpston

In early December of 1873, a couple Mrs. Martha Ann and Thomas B. Cumpston experienced a strange occurrence at the Victoria Hotel in Bristol, England. They were staying at Clifton but wanted to proceed to Weston-super-mare in the morning.

They never expected to experience something terrifying that night.

When they settled down around midnight they began hearing strange noises. They let the landlady know and reassured them that it was nothing and not to worry about it.

About 4 in the morning they heard noises again. When they spoke the words they said echoed back to them.  Thomas seemed to more affected by the noises than Martha. The floor felt like it was giving away and then bed opened up beneath them and they fell in a pit. They believed that they were in a den of rogues and thieves and were in fear of their lives.

Thomas fired his revolver at the ceiling when Martha asked him to. To scare off whoever was there.  They were so terrified for their lives they jumped from the window that was twelve feet from the ground. Martha had stated she didn't even remember how they were able to out the window. The two rushed to the railway station finding somewhere away from the room.

The couple was charged with disorderly conduct and firing a firearm. When they spoke in front of the magistrate the charges were dropped. The way they spoke made it seem like they both believed what they were saying. The Magistrate believed that the young couple was suffering from a shared hallucination.

The Great Sheep Panic of 1888

The night of  November 3, 1888, it was dark and had occasional flashes of lightning. Tens of thousands of folded sheep in the large breeding districts north, east, west, of Reading, England were frightened. The many jumped the hurdles and were scattered by the next morning.

Shepards had found the sheep panting as if they were terrified. They had found the sheep

A farmer who owned sheep in Wallingford and Twyford claimed that he found his own sheep in a frightened manner also. It seemed that the countryside north of the Thames was affected with a few exceptions.

On the night of December 4, 1893, it had occurred again. It had taken place in the northern and middle parts of Oxfordshire, extending into adjoining parts of the counties of Warwick, Gloucester, and Berks.

Sheep are timid and easily scared animals. It is unknown how who or what had scared thousands of sheep. The storm was not believed to have been the culprit for the first panic. It's also unlikely that a person or persons had caused the panic. None of the farmers could find an explanation for the panic. It was thought possible that the sheep were panicked by a minor earthquake that was covered by the storm.

Or possibly the sheep experienced their own version of Mass hysteria. When one group heard another in a frightened mood it may had terrified them also.

Francis Leavy's Handprint

On April 18, 1924, at Engine Company #107 a fire department in Chicago it began like any other day. Except on firefighter, Francis Leavy was acting strange that day. He had an air of gloominess around him. He didn't greet his coworkers, smile or even talk. He just busied himself with cleaning and maintenance around the firehouse. He then admitted to his fellow firefighters that he felt like he was going to die. At the time some of them possibly poked fun at it, because they never thought it could be true.

After 7 p.m. while Leavy was cleaning the windows a call had come in there was a fire at the Curran Hall. Like many of the other firefighter, Leavy left to the fire that was only a few blocks away. Engine #5 and Engine #103 were fighting the fire inside. While firefighters from truck #12 were working the ladders outside.

The four-story building showed some weird anomalies. Some witnesses said that the fires went downstairs like liquid flowing and when it had gotten to the boxes on the stairwell they exploded. Those fighting inside had to take turns running to the windows to breath fresh air because at the time they had no breathing apparatuses.

Unfortunately for all those who fought the fire inside. Thirty minutes in the fire had damaged the structure of the building too far. First, the roof collapsed and then pushed out the outer walls of the structured causing the whole building to collapse. Those within the building had been hurt or lost their life.

Within thirty minutes all recuse agency's in Chicago was called in. It was difficult to rescue those trapped beneath the building because when the building collapsed it knocked out power lines leaving the search in rescue in the dark.

20 firefighters were injured and 8 firefighters died that night 1 firefighter died 8 days later. One civilian, William Behr, died while trying to help rescue trapped firefighters. Funerals for the fallen occurred on the 21, 22, and 23 where 125 firefighters were officially detailed to honorary escorts for the services. For the first time in history a civilian, William Behr, had 6 firefighters serve as honorary pallbearers.

Truck 12 lost 6 of their firefighters, Engine #5 lost 2 and Engine #107 lost only one and that was Francis Leavy.

The fire itself was found out to be the cause of arson. The reason that the fire spread like liquid flowing was because wood alcohol was spread around the building and lit on fire. The one who started the fire was the owners of the sporting goods and novelties shop that resided on the second floor. They were convicted of arson and murder. It's sad to think all these people were injured, killed, lost their coworker and friends just because the owners wanted to get $32,000 from the insurance company.

The next day the other firefighters noticed the half cleaned window that Leavy was working on had a strange stain on it. In the middle of it was a handprint and when they tried cleaning it the handprint would not leave. They scrubbed, scraped with razors and used different cleaning chemicals, but nothing would work on the window. They even hired people to clean it, but no one could remove the handprint.

It had been suggested to replace the window, but some of them working there didn't want to. They believed that hey shouldn't mess with the unknown. It was also left as a reminder or in memory of Leavy and those who lost their lives that night.

On April 18, 1944, exactly 20 years after Leavy and his fellow firefighters lost their life something happened. A paperboy carelessly threw a newspaper and it shattered the window. Thus destroying the mysterious handprint that couldn't be removed.
