Google Translates Strange Things Sometimes

We all know that Google translates is a good way to find the basic meaning of foreign words. Some kids use it to find potty words to use secretly against their parents. Other's stumble upon a sentence they want to figure out what it's saying. But we all know that it isn't exactly perfect as sometimes the sentences are sometimes jumbled.

Some have been playing around with it and found that some times when nonsense is put in or sentences of words spaced out in 1 to 3 letters. Most times the you get nonsense back, but sometimes they get weird translations. Sometimes these responses are even in a creepy sense.

Google is a large network and Google Translate has an algorithm that helps connect words to each other in different languages.  Some believe that google is getting the responses from the users or the network, and some of it may even be taken from the users personal emails.

Nightmare Expo's video on it is great and better explained than I did. He had also inspired this post.

Murder of Charlene Johnson-Lane

In 1978 28 year old Charlene Johnson-Lane lived in Saginaw, Michigan. She had a few recent changes to her life. She was separated from her husband, and had no children.  She used to party and hang out with the wrong crowd, but had changed her life. She was even going to church and singing in the choir.

On Feb. 12, 1978 the Saginaw News got a call they'd never thought they'd get. Greg Branch a reporter at the time, and later the mayor answered the call. He says the voice still haunts him to this day. The caller left a simple and terrifying message.

"Yeah, I'd like to report a murder." They said, " She's at 1616 Walnut. She's been strangled, raped, and stabbed." He also claimed that he was put on hold by the police and decided to call the News station instead.

Greg Branch described the voice as someone who sounded like someone on drugs. It was believed to have been initially a prank, but he called the police just in case. The police went to the home and found it was locked and left.

Another phone call came into the police station telling them to come back. Meaning the caller was watching. The second time they made their way in and found a grisly sight. Charlene was found face down in a pool of her own blood. She was strangled, raped, and beaten just as the caller said.

This wasn't the last call the killer made that week.

On Wednesday He called the News Station again, this time Mike Beyer, a reporter, answered the call. He claimed that he was the killer and wanted to turn himself in. He was afraid that the police would hurt him though if he tried.  Beyer tried to tell the caller police won't hurt him if he came in with Beyer. The man said he wanted to and would call back, but he never did.

On Friday the police received another call from him. But because the shift commander he was looking for wasn't on duty he hung up. This was the last time that the anonymous caller made contact. This unfortunately left no clues to who the caller was or who had murdered Charlene.

Murder of Terry L. Allen

On June 24, 1983, 16-year-old Terry L. Allen left her home in Kansas City Missouri on the 26000 block of Park. She had left around 5:45 p.m. to pick up a load of clothes from the cleaners. It was supposed to have been a quick trip. When she didn't return later that night her mother worried and she called family and friends. She didn't return home that night and was never again.

The next morning her family and friends initiated a search for the girl. Unfortunately around 9 a.m. the next morning they found her body. It was a morbid scene only a mile from her home in a bushy field near a radio tower on 22nd Street and Woodland Ave. She was partially nude and had been strangled to death.

Terry was described as a bright girl and was always wanting to learn. She was hardworking as she was a cheerleader, a 100-meter sprinter, was in the church choir, manager for the football team, a statistician for the basketball team and even with all that she was working at a hamburger joint. Teachers, Friends, and Family's always recall her bright smile and kind personality.

Her case is still unsolved.
