Murder of Stacey Gilman







On July 4, 1981, 19-year-old Stacey Gilman was spending the 4th of July in Hawaii with family instead of New Jersey where she was. Stacey and her sister, Robin, and a friend would walk by the water on Ft. DeRussy beach in Waikiki. As it was the 4th of July fireworks were going. It was seemingly a normal 4th of July. Until someone shot a gun and the bullet hit Stacey in the head. Stacey was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, she died 3 hours later. 

It's unknown if the shooting was intentional or not. In the area, there was a group of around 5 or 6 military men. People stated that these men were seen with a gun on the seawall on the Koko head end of the beach. It's unknown if these men were involved in the shooting.

One Suspect is a local male around 20 years old. He is 5'8" and 150 lbs with a slim to medium build. At the time he had dark wavy hair down to his neck and was sporting a mustache. He has a dark complexion and some pockmarks on his face.

The other suspect appeared to be a military serviceman a white male around 20 years old. He is 5'9" and 150 lbs. He has a medium build. He has a fair complexion and fair eyes.
