Murder of Edwin Hart

On the morning of Feb. 16, 1974 28-year-old  Edwin Hart went to pick up a load of scrap brass at a shop on 30th Ave and 75th st. in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He would leave the shop around 10 a.m. His brother James and Cousin Richard were also in Kenosha picking up scrap on 30th Ave. They saw him driving down the road around 10:30 a.m.

When leaving Kenosha around 10:40 a.m. to Racine the two saw Edwin's 1958 Ford on the side of the road of 30th Ave (Wood Rd) just 2 miles south of the Racine County line. Inside Edwin was in a half kneeling and twisted in the passenger seat. Someone had shot him in the head below the right ear.

It's believed that Edwin was shot in the drivers seat and then his body pushed over to the passenger seat. It's believed that he may have been killed in town and the killer drove the car there. A blond man with a tan jacket and hunting boots were reportedly seen walking away from the truck.
