PLOT:

Idalene Nobbin is accustomed to being treated like a wallflower by her mother and brothers. One day she attends a dance given by Prue Nickerson and is surprised when Roy Duncan, a football star, asks her to dance. Prue would catch Roy's eye and asks what Prue's name was. Phill Larrabee, who also like Prue, lied and told him that her name was Idalene Nobbin. Roy thinking that Idalene was Prue would send an invitation to a prom dance. Idalene would show up with her mother and Roy bribes fellow students to fill Idalene's dance card. Feeling awful and humiliated she rushed from the dance and stumbles in front of a passing automobile. This does not kill her but breaks her legs. She would be picked up by Socialite Pamela Shiel and her guest Walter Breen and taken to Pamela's home.

Idalene would admit she tried to kill herself and that she will never have a lover, a husband, home, or babies. This is when Pamela and Walter decided to help the poor wallflower. Pamela would try to spoil Idalene by surrounding her with luxuries and teaching her to walk gracefully and to wear stylish clothes. Soon Walter starts to be attracted to Idalene. Pamela would then try to show Idalene off by throwing a house party. Walter would propose to Idalene, but she rejects him knowing that Pamela loves him also. Pamela is understanding and suppresses her feelings in favor of her friend's happiness.
