Murder of Wendy Lee Madden
On March 11, 1991, 23-year-old Wendy Madden left her home she shared with her mother in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to go buy cigarettes around 11 p.m. The store was only a 5 or a 6-minute walk from her home. She was last seen in the area of Cross Street and Railroad Street on the Pawtucket/Central Falls line around 11:15p.m. She wasn't seen alive again.
Two days later on March 13th Wendy's body was found behind a local bar called Jan's Place she had been strangled to death. This place has since been torn down. Wendy was familiar with the bar and was an occasional patron and may have been there on the night she disappeared.
