On September 25, 2003, at 2:30 a.m. there was a knock on 19-year-old Michael Snapp's apartment on the 4600 block of Downeast Court in the North Beach apartment complex in Virginia Beach. He would answer the door. He would try to close the door on his killer and be shot in the chest. When police arrived they found Michael lying inside the door of the apartment. He would die there and his body would be transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office.
At the time Michael was a student and baseball player at Virginia Wesleyan College. His 20th birthday was just 3 days away. He grew up in Newport News and graduated from Woodside High School in 2002.
