Murder of Jacqueline Lambert

On September 29, 1983, Jaqueline Lambert was abducted and assaulted by 3 women and a man. They beat her and tortured her and let a dog attack her. The man in this event was wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with her but found out she wasn't interested and planned this out.

A then 20-year-old Jaqueline decided to stay at a crisis center in Killeen, Texas. She began getting harassing phone calls and decided to get away. She hitched a ride with a long haul truck driver. She accompanied him to Arizona. On the way, Jacqueline sent postcards to her family. She sent one from Arizona saying she'd be home in two days. She never showed up.

On August 8, 1984, Jaqueline and the trucker stopped in Big Lake, Texas. The two were eating and then they got into an argument. Witnesses said that Jaqueline marched off angry and was walking east out of Big Lake.

Later that day her body was found not far from where she was last seen 6 miles east of Big Lake. She was either struck by a vehicle or thrown from one. Some suspect that the truck driver and or the man who previously assaulted her was involved. She may have hitched a ride with her killer.
