On April 26, 1989, around 5 p.m. 8-year-old David Borer was last seen walking to Mile Marker 82 on Parks Highway 11 miles north of his hometown of Willow, Alaska. He was either walking to a friend's home or to go play at a sandbar at the nearby Kashwitna River. At the time the river was iced over. When he never returned home.
There was no hole in the ice of the river, but the center wasn't iced over. It's shallow, but the current is swift. Dogs followed his scent to Parks Highway, but no signs of him anywhere else.
