Murder of Kelly Jane Evelyn Cook

On April 22, 1981, at 8:20 a.m. 14-year-old kelly Cook received a call from a man going as Bill Christensen. He asked the teen if she would babysit that evening for him. He had gotten her number from a friend that was busy. She agreed and made arrangements for the man to pick her up at her home in Standard, Alberta, Canada.

At 8:30 p.m. a full-sized North American car pulled up to her home. Kelly would get into the car and never be seen alive again. Her body would be found in the Chin Lake Reservoir east of Lethbridge on June 28, 1981. Her body had been bound and weighed down with two concrete blocks. Lethbridge is over 2 hours away from Standard.

It's believed her killer had planned this abduction over a one or two-month period.

Other girls in Canmore, Alberta had gotten calls from a man who asked if they would babysit for him. He would offer to give the ride to his home. These phone calls were made from a payphone and are possible to be the same man.
