Murder of Tanya Rush

On June 27, 2008, a suitcase was found in the Newbridge Road exit ramp on the westbound side of Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore, New York. Inside was the dismembered body of 39-year-old Tanya Rush.

The last time anyone saw her was on June 23, 2008. She was seen on surveillance camera around 3 a.m. The footage was from inside the elevator at 345 Livonia Ave. Where she lived. In the elevator with her was a man and a woman. Another camera showed them leaving the side entrance.

The man and woman walk to the right and Tanya went left. She went towards the street where the elevated train runs. It's not believed that these two were involved in her death.

At this time of her life, Tanya was a drug addict and prostitute. Her daughter described her as funny, sweet, and a great woman. She was going through some tough times at the time, but shouldn't have her whole life be judged for this.

An up to $2,500 reward is offered for this case for anyone with information leading to an arrest.
