Around 6:45 P.M. December 26, 2011 3 year old Terell Mayes family heard gunshots outside their Minneapolis, Minnesota home. They all attempted to run to an upstairs bedroom to hide. Unfortunately Terrell was hit in the head from a stray bullet. The Mayes family never expected such a tragedy to happen especially the day after Christmas.
Shell casings across the street indicated the shooter was It was believed that the shooting was gang related and Terell wasn't the intended victim.
The family has since moved out of the home, but every month his mother comes back to the neighborhood to leave flowers for her son.
There is currently a $60,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest.
