Murder of Gary Butler

On February 25, 1996, 25-year-old Gary Butler was shooting pool at Perhach's Bar on Main St. In Manville, New Jersey with several of the bar's regulars. He left the bar sometime after midnight and he walked his friend home. He returned to his home at the Chester House where he rented a room on the second floor. Sometime between 2 and 6 a.m. he had managed to get to the town of Bound Brook, which is around 5 miles away. On the return trip from Bound Brook to Manville Gary was attacked, his cause of death was the result of multiple blunt force trauma. His body was found in the retention pond on North Main St. in Manville near the border of Bridgewater and Raritan River.
