Murder of Tammy Marie Lynds

On the night of July 21, 1994, 15-year-old Tammy Marie Lynds was going to sneak out of her home in Springfield, Massachusetts. She told her little sister she had to go out and would be back by 3 a.m. Her sister claims that Tammy seemed reluctant to leave and meet a friend or possible boyfriend. She told her sister that someone had threatened her to go.

She saw her father who had fallen asleep couch and woke him. She told him to go to bed and he did. Afterward, she went out of the front door. She left it open and snuck out of the side gate to avoid the motion sensor lights. She was never seen alive again. Her parents reported her missing the next day.

On November 4, 1994, a man and his 8-year-old son were riding bikes through the woods. He spotted a hub cap off of Old Fox Rd. in Springfield. He then found Tammy's body. It's believed she had died the night she disappeared. Her cause of death is either unknown or undetermined.

It's believed that Tammy's diary had important information. There was an entry a week before her disappearance she talked about sneaking out and meeting her boyfriend. She had walked by some bars and she was uncomfortable because a man started following her. She booked it and met up with her boyfriend. He was never named in the diary, and it's unknown if the police know who he is.
