Murder of Myrtle Vera Cole

 



Around 10:13 a.m on December 12, 1981, A family member of 81-year-old Myrtle Cole went to her home in Fairhaven, Minnesota. She was either killed that morning or the night before. She was found half nude on her bed and had been stabbed to death. In one article it states that a neighbor saw a car parked outside her home around 2 a.m. and a man was seen peaking out.

Fairhaven had a population of 100 people at the time and had a small tavern, a grocery store, a church, and City Hall. Myrtle was living alone in her home after her husband passed away in the years before her murder. She was well known in Fairhaven.
