Murder of Sharon Ryan

On December 16, 1976, 17-year-old Sharon Ryan was at her sister's house on the 2400 block of NE Flanders in Portland, Oregon. She was making cookies when she realized there were no eggs in the house, and so she would leave. She was going to take a walk to a nearby store, get the eggs and be right back to finish the cookies. She wouldn't return though.

After being gone 30 minutes Sharon's sister began to search the neighborhood with her husband. After searching for an hour and a half they notified the police. This was out of character for Sharon and they believed that something happened to her.

On December 18, 1976, friends and family searched the area again for Sharon. a friend would find an egg carton with broken eggs near Sharon's home and this would lead to them finding her body in the grassy area next to the parking lot. She had been sexually assaulted and murdered.
