On either December 11, 1985, 49-year-old Betty Fluharty did not show up to work. This worried her employer and they called the police to go check up on her. The police arrived around 12:51 p.m at her apartment on 7035 E. Wilshire in Scottsdale, Arizona. Police had found her body lying next to her bed. She had died from a gunshot wound. She may have been killed between 9 p.m. on the 10th to 7 a.m. that morning. The gun was not found.
At the time she had been divorced from her husband Robert Fluharty and was dating others. It's possible that a jealous boyfriend may have killed her.
