Murder of Glenda Carter

.

On May 25, 1992 around 2 p.m. the body of 47-year-old Glenda Carter was found on a bushy trail behind 5115 NE 14th Place in Portland Oregon. She was seen between 11 p.m. the previous night to 3 a.m. that morning. It was found she had died from strangulation.

Glenda had arrived in Portland five months prior. She decided to attend truck driving school in Tigard to be closer to her eldest daughter and grandchildren. She was trying to get her CDL to assist her fiance who was a truck driver.

Glenda was a mother of three and they described her as "always the funniest person in the room who would give you her last dollar if you needed it. You wouldn't even have to ask." She did have an on and off a battle with addiction but she had times where she was clean for years at a time. She was a good mother regardless.

Glenda had several acquaintances in the neighborhood and they assume her death was over a drug dispute. It was said she may have had a boyfriend named "Richard" at the time. He's not a suspect, but the police would like to speak with him about the murder.
