Disappearance of Melanie Jo Melanson

On the night of October 27, 1989, 14-year-old Melanie Jo Melanson went to a party in an industrial park by the Woburn and Stoneham Massachusetts line. She was only a few days away from her 15th birthday. She was last seen with two teenage boys. Both claimed that the other was the last one to see her. One stated that he last saw her standing at the end of a trail in the early morning of Oct. 28.

It was initially thought that she ran away to Florida. She had once run away previously, but she contacted her family soon after. She was being taken care of by her grandmother and aunts. At the time she was looking forward to getting her braces taken off and her transfer from Woburn HS to Northeast Vocational HS.

Police do believe that she was killed that night now.

Melanie is a white female and was a few days from her 15th birthday. She was 5'3" and 105 lbs at the time. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She had braces at the time and her ears are pierced.
