Disappearance of Michael August Cannon

On early Christmas morning of 1966 18-year-old left his family's home in Kahala, Hawaii. He left a note saying he was hiking Tantalus Moutain. His car was found on top of Tantalus. The search for Michael was the largest and most expensive in Hawaii. It's possible he got lost while hiking.

Michael is a white male and 18 at the time. He's 5'11" Aand 165 to 175 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt writing on the front with "Judson School" (Judson School is in Scottsdale, Arizona), and tan hiking boots. She had an Olive-drab backpack bought at a surplus store. He also had a canteen, high energy candy bars, a Polaroid Camera, a blue and white first aid kit, and a map of the trail area.
