Murder of Lloyd "Pat" Fitzgerald

 




On October 2, 1972, 27-year-old Lloyd"Pat" Fitzgerald was last seen alive in Burlington, Vermont. At the time Pat was an Electrician and was employed by the City of Burlington Electric and Light Department. He was last seen after doing a wiring job on Van Patten Parkway. He left the home after 9 p.m. His Vega Station wagon was found the next day parked west of North Avenue in the Lakewood Estates area. There was no sign of him.

On March 4, 1973, his body would be found in a remote area of a cornfield near the Ethan Allen Homestead in Burlington. He was found 104 ft from the Winooski River frozen beneath the body. He had been dragged to the area he was found by his feet. He had been shot to death.
