On October 11, 2003, at 1:50 a.m. 37-year-old Yvonne Martines was last seen leaving the Okay Casino just north of Espanola, New Mexico. Later that day a passerby on a four-wheeler found her. She was partially unclothed, and from the scene struggled with her murderer. She had been shot twice in the chest.
