Monsters: Gumberoo

The Gumberoo is a creature from North American Folklore. They are somewhat similar to a black bear but seem to be a rare sighting.  They are seen along the coast from Washington to California and make their homes in hollowed-out remnants of cedar trees. It seems that the Gumberoo has a great hunger but rarely leaves its home only to forage for food. It eats large meals like horses for just one meal.

The creature has smooth tough skin and is hairless except for its beard and eyebrows. Their skin is incredibly tough, so much so it can reflect bullets and arrows. It has a weakness to fires though and is highly combustible. When they are set afire they will explode. It's believed that they're rare because of them being weak to fire and forest fires would automatically kill them and their homes.
