Just before 2 a.m. on October 26, 1985, 20-year-old Kip Hallow was hit by a car on Vickers St. North and Weigand Ave. in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Two passersby found him and got assistance from a cab driver who arrived shortly after. The cab driver called paramedics and police, but Kip would be pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after 2 a.m. The people who found Kip stated that a car was seen going up North Vickers St. when they found Kip.
Kip's clothes had evidence of red or marron paint chips from the sedan that hit him. He was wearing a black leather jacket, faded blue jeans, a white shirt and tan coloured cowboy boots and also had a lighter that was a replica of a Derringer pistol.
It's believed that before the hit and run Kip was at the bars on the North side that night.
