Lost Media: 4 Devils (1928)

 

  
The film 4 Devils was based on the novel The Four Devil's by Danish Author Herman Bang. The book was published in 1890. In 1928 a silent film was released on October 3rd. On June 15, 1929, a rerelease happened, but with sound. Both versions of this film are lost. Historian William K. Everson stated that Mary Duncan borrowed the print from Fox Studios and ended up misplacing it. Nothing remains of the actual film.

Plot:

As children four orphans brothers Fritz and Adolf and Sisters Louise and Aimée were taken in by the circus. Together the four would form a trapeze act called the Four Devils. Aimée is in love with Fritz, but that is not returned as he falls in love with a rich girl in the crowd. The story focuses on the sinister going ons in the circus.
