Murder of Homer Able

On Feb. 27, 1984, 63-year-old Homer Able was working as a gas station attendant at the Asamera Gas Station. The station was located on Highway 6 just a few miles east of Rifle, Colorado. He was robbed that night and during the robbery, he was shot.

The suspect was described as a young white male 5'8" and 150 to 170lbs. He had dark hair and a dark beard and a closely trimmed mustache. He was possibly driving a dark-colored full-size American made truck with a white camper shell.
