Murder of Jennifer Lynn Stone

On April 23, 1992, 22-year-old Jennifer Lynn Stone was supposed to have two meetings with fellow students she was working on a project with. She missed the one at noon and then the other at 6 p.m. The students went to check on her at her apartment in Athens, Georgia.

Around 7 p.m. the students found the side door was open a few inches and looked in. They had seen her body. The police were immediately notified. She was strangled to death. It's believed she was killed in the early morning. She was last seen alive about midnight that morning on April 23rd.

She was a senior at UGA majoring in advertising. She lived alone for the last 8 months in the three bedroom apartment located at 187 Hull St. in downtown Athens. It was connected to a clothing business behind the bus station.
