Murder of John Mathers

Just before midnight on April 8, 1992 31-year-old John Mathers arrived at his apartment complex. He had been shot prior to arriving home and his wife called 911. He had been shot and robbed on 400 Echodal Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina. Several black men approached him from a dark vehicle and had robbed and shot him. He later died the next day from his wounds.
