Murder of Pam Newton

On the night of April 10, 1978, 13-year-old Pamela, Pam, Newton left her home around 7 p.m. Her body was found the next morning on April 11 on the railroad tracks on 200 South and 2500 West in, Mesa Arizona. She was strangled to death. Then someone dragged her body to the railroad tracks and left her on there. 1. Someone I know went to school with Pam and she was not a nice girl at all. It's suspected there was violence in her home as she was a mean bully and had no friends. If not that, then she was a psychopath, possibly.
It's terrible that she was killed like this and I have to wonder if it was a male relative based on what I've heard about her life. She was a miserable person at only 13 years old, but who knows what her future may have been if she'd been given a chance.
I hope cops have some physical evidence that holds DNA that can now lead to answers. So many cases are being solved now, but DNA is necessary and not all murderers leave much behind and not all cops preserve what is needed.

    2. That was as awful thing to say! She was a child! She didn’t deserve this regardless of her ‘behavior’ ! This was horrendous! If she was that incorrigible there must of been home life issues. But nothing would justify this!

    3. "must have" not "must of". Sorry, but I feel I must correct that when I see it. Yes, Pam obviously had a bad home life as she was a terror to me and my friends. She spat on us and was a bully but that does not make it okay that she was killed and decapitated on the train tracks. I really feel like I, as a kid, tried to help her. But how can you help anyone when some dude is hellbent on killing?

  2. Shame on you. That child had her life horrifically taken from her and she had a family who loved her. Her siblings still mourn the tragic loss of their baby sister. YOU are a “miserable person” to generate such cruel gossip. Again, shame on you.

    1. I went to the same elementary school as Pam and if my memory is correct I saw her the day before she was taken from us. I don’t remember her being a bully just a typical 13 year old girl.

    2. Pam was killed when she was in Connolly Junior High not elementary school. Did you go to Curry Elementary?

    3. Pam was an only child, as far as her parents told me. Maybe they had secrets?

  3. I also went to elementary school with Pam. I don't remember her as a bully. I do remember other kids picking on her. I would ways try to be nice to her. May her soul rest with the angels

    1. You went to Curry Elementary School? Were you in our same year? Did you go to Connolly Junior High? Pam wasn't as much of a bully in elementary school (and her being a bully or not is completely irrelevant to her murder, of course). I would just love to converse with "alumni" of Curry and Connolly. :)

  4. Pam was a bully but didn't deserve to be murdered! I went to elementary school and junior high with her. Ask me why I thought she was a bully as otherwise I could go on forever and it's not really relevant to her murder.

  5. I went to school with her at Curry. I moved before she was killed. Kids made fun of and picked on her because she was "different" . I can only imagine that was why she behaved as she did . She was never mean to me but I was a big girl and I tried to be nice to her. It was known that her family life was horrible. No matter how she behaved she did not deserve what happened and I only pray that she is at peace.
