On April 23, 1984, a mailman saw that a home at 201 Burn Ave. in Syracuse, New York seemed to have been broken into. They alerted a neighbor, Dr. Robert Raleigh, that 84-year-old Matilda Cain's home had looked to have been broken into. The front door seemed to have been kicked in. Inside was Matilda's body lying in a pool of blood from a head injury. It seems that she was attacked during a robbery.
